Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2025
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help pages work correctly, remember your preferences, and provide us with basic information about how the site is used. This page explains the cookies used by Driftwell, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small file placed on your browser or device by a website you visit. It contains a small amount of data — often an anonymous identifier. Cookies are not programs and cannot carry viruses or malware.
Websites use cookies to remember things like whether you have previously accepted our cookie notice, to understand how visitors navigate the site, and to ensure core functionality works correctly across sessions.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Required for basic site functionality. These cannot be disabled — without them, parts of the website would not work correctly.
Examples: cookie consent status, session security token
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how visitors interact with the site — which pages are viewed most, how long sessions last, and where visitors come from. Data is aggregated and anonymised.
Examples: Google Analytics (_ga, _gid)
Marketing Cookies
Used to understand the effectiveness of advertising and to show relevant content across platforms. These are only active if you have opted in.
Examples: Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tags
Preference Cookies
Allow the website to remember choices you make — such as your region or display settings — so you do not have to re-enter them on each visit.
Examples: language preference, consent version
Your Cookie Preferences
Use the toggles above to set your preferences, then save your choices below. Your selection will be stored in your browser and applied each time you visit.
Third-Party Cookies
Some optional cookies are set by third-party services we use, including:
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics (anonymised)
- Google Ads — conversion tracking for advertising
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — advertising performance measurement
- Microsoft Clarity / Bing — heatmaps and session analytics
These services have their own privacy policies. We only activate third-party cookies if you have provided consent for the relevant category.
How Long Cookies Last
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies — stored for a set period. Our consent cookie lasts 12 months; Google Analytics cookies typically expire after 2 years
- You can delete cookies at any time through your browser settings (see below)
